Interview + Giveaway of Signed Cover Flat

Dying to find out what my New Year resolutions were? Want a good old-fashioned paper copy of KINDLING THE MOON for your bookshelves, or maybe a signed cover flat for the upcoming SUMMONING THE NIGHT? (A cover flat is the entire wraparound of the book cover, a printing proof from the publisher. You know you want this—it’ll be totally collectable five years from now, when I’ve risen to mega-bestseller status and own a house in the Hollywood hills. You can sell it for big bucks on ebay and I won’t be offended!)

Check it all out on A Great Book is the Cheapest Vacation. You can win a copy of a Jaye Wells book there, as well.

Harry Potter, Vampire Wire, and Tambuku Playlist

Narcissa Malfoy has Arcadia Bell hair. . . . Maybe this is what Cady will look like in twenty years?

Happy Friday! Tonight I’ll be lining up for the final Harry Potter movie. I’m prepared to shed a few tears; I’m sure I won’t be the only one. Sure, all the talk in the news about this signaling the end of an era is dramatic, but come on—it really has been a phenomenal, utterly wonderful thing, hasn’t it?

Speaking of Harry, I live in a backwards  conservative town near Atlanta that made the news a few years back when a stupid concerned citizen tried to have Harry banned from schools and libraries. Do you remember this story? The citizen, a wayward mother with too much time on her hands, claimed that the books attempted to “indoctrinate children in witchcraft.” I wonder if she still lives here?

Luna Lovegood and her fabulous Spectrespecs. Le sigh!

Keep in mind that this is also the place where some nutjob shot Larry Flynt near the courthouse when he was being tried for breaking obscenity laws by publishing Hustler—the shooting that put him in the wheelchair.

My husband and I discovered both of these classy facts after we moved here. It gets worse, actually, but that’s a post for another day . . .

Yes, that's the Nox symbol in the corner: certified Earthbound-friendly!

Switching gears . . . in case you missed it, Marta Acosta, the writer of the wickedly funny Casa Dracula series, generously had me on her Vampire Wire blog this week for a Q&A. We discussed all things funny, my former life as a book buyer, and the joys of writing a cool fictional bar. On and there’s a giveaway of my book tied to that Q&A, so go and comment if you’d like to enter.

Did you see the playlist for Tambuku Tiki Lounge in the EXTRAS! section? It’s full of laid-back exotica lounge tunes that Cady would definitely play in the bar.

Some other goodies are coming to the EXTRAS! section, so stay tuned.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
